An Unusual Article (yet very interesting)

 

This article is a little unusual, and may be a lot different than what you read from others.

Let me explain.

Last weekend I spoke at a conference where most speakers were there to pitch their stuff (some gave great content, others were just giving sales pitches).

I shared a few ideas with the attendees, concepts that got them thinking for themselves so they could understand more clearly what they really needed to have a successful online business.

One part of my talk had the following header...

"Are You Looking For The Magic Bullet Of Success?"

And during this section I used an acronym to help summarize what needs to be in place, here goes...

W - Want

You've really got to WANT your goals, not just wish for them, but really focus in and keep your goals in mind and never give up in achieving them.

O - Opportunity

You'll need to develop the mindset of being able to spot opportunities that others do not see. Always be on the lookout for new things, and especially have a sense of what your market niche is wanting OR will want soon.

R - Relationships

You can't make it big going it alone. You're going to need help from others, whether it be mentors, JV partners, friends, helpers, employees... begin cultivating relationships with others and nurturing those relationships by always looking for ways to be helpful to others.

K - Knowledge

Yes, you're going to have to acquire knowledge, and there's a lot to know about. And the internet world changes fast, so get used to the idea of always learning more, and invest in your own continuing education.

So you can see already that our acronym has spelled that four letter word... W O R K

(oh no, work!... isn't there an easier way?)

Well, let's continue...

S - Salesmanship

One common thread that I see time and time again of those who are successful is they all have salesmanship skills. Some people seem to be born with, others learn to acquire the skills. You will need to sell your ideas to others, as well as your products and services (so keep your eyes and ears open to learning sales skills).

M - Marketing

Marketing is very much different than sales. Marketing has you finding out what people want before you make any attempt to sell them, and once you know what people want to buy... it makes it so much easier for them to buy it from you.

A - Action

Nothing is going to happen unless you take action.

(this could be the biggest secret of all, you've really got to do something to begin your movement forward, then make adjustments as you go)

R - Recipe

Lots of the speakers were selling their push-button packages at the conference... which really are great recipes for success.

The problem is... it's THEIR recipe, not yours.

It's the difference between a recipe for apple pie, and a recipe for your Grandma's apple pie. Grandma added some special ingredients to make it even better than the original recipe, and you will have to do this too to any success recipe you buy -- you've got to offer the world something unique... "me too" marketing doesn't sell well.

T - Technology

The thing that makes having your own internet business possible is the technology of computers and the internet, so you've got to get good at your own computer and also famliarize yourself with hosting, html pages and blogs, and other new technologies as they come into play.

So now you can see the total acronym to remember is....

W O R K S M A R T

Later in my presentation I walked people through the 12 areas of internet business they must master do succeed. All of them are important and if any one of them is missing, you just won't have the best shot at a thriving internet business as you could have.

I then introduced people to a very unique program that provides a way for people to acquire everything I mentioned, and also interact with other successful people on a continuing basis.
