Find The Faith to Cope with Disaster

Couldnt you use a little more faith today? How can we expect to cope with a natural disaster or acts of terrorism without faith in God?

If you are like me, you have been riveted to the TV, and horrified by the images of suffering that this terrible hurricane and flood have rendered.

Many of you may be wondering where is Gods hand in all of this. Dont waste your time trying to blame God. Ask for his help to cope with this tragedy. Take an example from the faith the victims have portrayed.

We have to muster the resolve to cope with some of the terrible things that are happening all around us. We have to rely on our faith in God.

Sometimes its hard to have faith when we see people suffering, losing their homes, their loved ones, and even their lives, but if we just have faith in God we can learn to cope with the tragedies that befall us.

In the midst of all this tragedy and suffering, the true spirit of America will emerge. We are a people of faith in God. We must do all we can to help the victims of this terrible hurricane. We must take action to help those amongst us who cannot currently help themselves. We must act.

Only when each of us in his or her own way begin to participate in the recovery will we start to find the faith to cope with this terrible event.

Many of us may be saying to ourselves, what would I do if this happened to me. The answer is that we would try and cope with the situation as best we can relying on our faith in God.

Lets all join together in a spirit of good faith and help our fellow citizens in need. Lets do everything we can to make their lives more comfortable. The next disaster may befall you and I. Then it may be us who need help.

The lesson to be learned from tragic events or acts of terrorism is the demonstration of faith in the future that the survivors exhibit as they try to pick up the pieces of their lives and build a better future. Life goes on. Nature replenishes itself and in the process generates new life and the environment necessary for a brighter future. People of faith learn to cope with acts of terror and natural disasters. The creation of life evolves and regenerates itself under Gods good graces and as manifested by his unfathomable grand design.

It is fair to say that if not for the grace of God there go I. This frightens many of us. The only way to cope with these fears is through faith in God and doing good works. This is what our common Lord calls upon us to do.

Maybe we can channel our fears into constructive efforts to help the victims of this tragedy and ourselves. Maybe we can find the faith to persevere in our efforts to restore the virtue of our nation. Maybe we can find the faith in God to help us cope with natural disasters and terrorism. Maybe we can help create a better future for all of us. Maybe this is part of Gods grand design.
